A few weeks ago, Diana Zahuranec, friend and recurring podcast guest, asked me if I was interested in writing a guest post for her blog: Once Upon a Time in Italy. Having lived in Italy for 5 years, Diana couldn’t help but notice that, when it comes to food, the otherwise chaotic Italians seem to follow a set of unwritten rules. As an example, no Italian would dare cutting spaghetti in the plate, and if they could they would personally stop anyone who tried!
Naturally, I accepted. But to try to be as complete and fair as possible, I enlisted several foodies to help me identify the subset of habits that can be considered as general, those that most Italians would recognize as rules. This is how The Basic Rules of Italian Food was born!
As you visit Diana’s blog, don’t miss her great articles on exploring Piedmont, on life in Italy, on writing, as well as her recipes and food stories.
I would like to thank Diana for the opportunity, as well as the fellow bloggers and friends that helped with the article, particularly: Cristina Pepe, Pola M, Ilaria M, Marta, Fernando Santagata, and Simona Carini.
Complimenti Paolo!
